Installation instructions

The Getting Started with LucidWorks Search white paper takes the user through the straightforward process of installing, starting and verifying their LucidWorks Search installation. Among other data types that can be added to the list of sources that can be crawled is MapR M5/M7, which utilizes our new Hadoop Job Jar for crawling HDFS sources, utilizing Map and Reduce capabilities to improve the speed of data ingestion.


Use Instructions

The "Quick Start" process, available (assuming a default installation) at Getting Started with LucidWorks Search guides the new user through the process of configuring a simple data source for crawling, starting the crawl of that data source and then searching the indexed content using the LucidWorks Flare UI.

For the users that desire are more in-depth introduction to LucidWorks search, the Getting Started with LucidWorks Search white paper, starting with the section titled "Basic searching," takes the user through the straightforward process of how to configure a data source for crawling, including working with the index schema, crawling that data source and then using the search tools provided with LucidWorks Search to explore the newly indexed content.
