Prior to MapR he was part of the Oracle Database kernel team early on and later architected the Smart FlashCache in Exadata Database Machine. He was also an early member of the Mars/FlashRay project at NetApp. He has Masters in CS from University of Texas, Austin and B.Tech. in CS from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He is also passionate about table tennis and enjoys hikes with his family.
