Zelaine has over 30 years of database experience, dating back to her graduate studies at UC Berkeley. She wrote the original query optimizer for Postgres, when it was still a nascent research project. Zelaine currently works at Snowflake Computing where she is leading their effort to build out and improve their internal technical documentation, to help scale their Engineering organization's growth. Before Snowflake, Zelaine worked at MapR where she was a member of the engineering leadership team and contributed to the technical documentation. She wrote and reorganized the MapR Database content in the 6.0.x and 6.1 releases. She also collaborated closely with Engineering teams to create the MapR Data Science Refinery documentation.
