Executives Speaking at Gartner Data & Analytics Summit, NVIDIA’s GPU Technology Conferenceand Strata Data Conference

When: Monday, March 18 at 11:00 AM
Where: San Jose McEnery Convention Center, Marriott Hotel Ballroom 3 (Level 2/Concourse)
What: Jim Scott, vice president, Enterprise Architecture, MapR, will present, “Problems Taking AI to Production, and How to Fix Them.” As data becomes enriched, and parameters tuned and explored, there is a need for versioning everything, including the data. In this session, Jim will discuss new approaches that must be taken to create solutions given the complexity of the problems with the inclusion of vast amounts of data.

Where: Orlando World Center Marriott
What: Jack Norris, senior vice president, Data and Applications, MapR, will lead the session, “Unlocking AI Value at Scale: 3 Key Building Blocks and 1 Massive Mistake to Avoid.” When it comes to transforming businesses - engaging customers, improving products, optimizing services, and managing risk – the focus often moves to AI and analytics. This session will delve into the building blocks and the one massive mistake to avoid for any organization looking to leverage AI.

What: Ted Dunning, chief application architect at MapR, will present an, “Online Evaluation of Machine Learning Models.” In this session, Ted offers a survey of useful ways to evaluate models in the real world, breaking the problem of evaluation apart into operational and function evaluation and demonstrating how to do each without unnecessary pain and suffering.

Where: Moscone West, Room 2008
What: Terry He, senior director of engineering at MapR and Skyler Thomas, MapR engineer, will lead the session, “Persistent Storage for Machine Learning in KubeFlow.” Attendees will learn the benefits of using Kubeflow and the considerations that are important for mounting persistent storage to a KubeFlow tenant in order to provide a unified security model and secure data access that doesn’t require any data movement.

What: Paul Curtis, principal solutions engineer at MapR, will present “Clusters in Kubernetes on a Cluster: Building a Multi-Tenant Environment for the Field.” This presentation details how the service was built, the lessons learned along the way, and how this service will expand in the future.
