Session highlights developments in Mahout clustering and classification
MapR Technologies Inc., announced today that its Chief Application Architect, Ted Dunning, will be co-presenting at the O'Reilly OSCON Open Source Convention in Portland, Oregon alongside Robin Anil, Google Software Engineer.
The tutorial details the evolution of Mahout with a focus on clustering and classification. This session aims to help users set up Mahout to run on Hadoop, and delves into how Mahout can be executed on some of the larger datasets. Developers are walked through the ideas behind specific algorithms and explore how they can be used to solve real-world problems.
Co-located with OSCON at the Oregon Convention Center, OSCON Data is the first-of-its-kind open source event, gathering developers who are hands-on and evolving architectures and tools to manage data. Attendees will learn about open source technologies for gathering, storing, and analyzing data that make it possible to use new data sources and do new things with existing data.
