Pre-Upgrade Steps for Sqoop

You need to back up the configuration files if you made configuration changes that you want to carry over to the next version. Depending on the Sqoop version, you might have to back up the sqoop repository.

  1. Back up configuration files.
    • Sqoop1: Copy configuration files from /opt/mapr/sqoop/sqoop-<version>/conf/ to a location outside the MapR installation.
    • Sqoop2: Copy configuration files from /opt/mapr/sqoop/sqoop-<version>/server/conf/sqoop.properties to a location outside the MapR installation.
  2. Sqoop2: Back up the Sqoop2 repository.
For example, copy the repository to the /tmp directory.

    cp -a /opt/mapr/sqoop/repository /tmp/
