Enabling or Disabling Autosplitting

Use a maprcli command or MCS to enable or disable the splitting of a table into regions automatically as the table grows.

maprcli commands

If you want to create a table and enable autosplitting, you can use the -autosplit parameter in the command maprcli table create. For a full description of this command, see table create.

If you want to enable or disable autosplitting of a table that already exists, use the command maprcli table edit and add the -audit parameter:
maprcli table edit -path <path> -autosplit true|false
For a full description of this command, see table edit.

The default value is true. If you set the value to false, you can manually split tables into regions by using the table region split command.

The average size of each region is determined by the regionsizemb parameter in the maprcli table create and maprcli table edit commands.
