Setting the Minimum and Maximum Number of Versions of Column Data to Keep

Use maprcli commands or MCS to set the number of minimum and maximum versions of column data to retain in a particular column family in a MapR-DB binary table.

maprcli commands

Use the -minversions and -maxversions parameters of the maprcli command table cf create when you are creating a column family. Use the -minversions and -maxversions parameters parameter of table cf edit to modify the number of versions for an existing column family.

MCS

  1. Open the table.
  2. Click the Column Families tab.
  3. If you are creating a column family, click the New Column Family button. In the window that opens, set the values in the Max Versions and Min Versions fields.
  4. If you are editing these values in an existing column family, select the check box next to the column family, then click the Edit Column Family button. In the window that opens, set the values in the Max Versions and Min Versions fields.
