Drill Alarm

UI Column

Drillbit Alarm

Logged As

NODE_ALARM_SERVICE_DRILL-BITS_DOWN

Meaning

The Drillbit service on the node has stopped running.

Resolution
Go to the Manage Services pane of the Node Properties View to check if Drill is running. Warden tries three times to restart Drill automatically every 30 minutes (by default). This 30 minute interval can be reconfigured using the parameter services.retryinterval.time.sec in the warden.conf file.If warden successfully restarts Drill, the alarm is cleared. If warden is unable to restart Drill, review the Drill log files, drillbit.out and drillbit.log, located in the /opt/mapr/drill/drill-<version>/logs directory to identify why Drill stopped running. Once you have identified and resolved the issue, run the following command to restart Drill on the node(s):
$ maprcli node services -name drill-bits -action restart -nodes <node host names separated by a space>

If the attempt to restart Drill on the node (s) fails, contact MapR technical support.
