Deploying a Compute Space

Prerequisite: You must have a running MapR storage cluster before deploying a Compute Space (CSpace), and you must have created information about that cluster in mapr-external info.

To create a CSpace in the Kubernetes environment, do the following:
  1. Modify a sample or create a new CSpace CR. For more information, see Building a Compute Space Custom Resource.
  2. If you have not already deployed the storage cluster info in the Kubernetes environment, do so by running the following command:
kubectl apply -f <path to external cluster info file>
For more information about creating a CR for external cluster secrets, see Creating and Deploying External Info for Compute Spaces.
  3. Run the following command to create the CSpace using the Compute Space CR file:
kubectl apply -f <path to compute space resource file>

  4. Run the following command to verify whether or not the CSpace has been created:
    kubectl get pods -n <cspace namespace>
After setting up the CSpace, you can use the Spark and Drill operators to deploy the following compute engines in the CSpace namespace on Kubernetes:
