Running the bootstrapinstall Utility

You can run the bootstrapinstall utility in three different modes:
  • PROMPT_MODE – (Default mode) This is an interactive mode. When you run the utility in this mode, the utility prompts you for input for the various settings required for bootstrapping your environment. To run the utility in this mode, run the following command:
    ./bootstrapinstall.sh [-m|--mode PROMPT_MODE]
For more information about running the utility in this mode, see Running the bootstrapinstall Utility in the PROMPT_MODE.
  • RECORD_MODE – This is an interactive mode. When you run the utility in this mode, the utility prompts you for input for the various settings required for bootstrapping your environment and creates a record of the settings in a file. You can then use the file to run the utility in HEADLESS_MODE. You can use this mode in conjunction with the HEADLESS_MODE to replicate an environment. To run the utility in this mode, run the following command:
    ./bootstrapinstall.sh -m|--mode RECORD_MODE -r|--responsefile <RESPONSE_FILE>
For more information about running the utility in this mode, see Running the bootstrapinstall Utility in the RECORD_MODE.
  • HEADLESS_MODE – This is a non-interactive mode. When you run the utility in this mode, the utility uses the settings in the file provided with the command. The file provided with the command can be created manually, or automatically during RECORD_MODE. To run the utility in this mode, run the following command:
    ./bootstrapinstall.sh -m|--mode HEADLESS_MODE -r|responsefile <RESPONSE_FILE>
For more information about running the utility in this mode, see Running the bootstrapinstall Utility in the HEADLESS_MODE.
